This is from Gary P. Jones on the Interlude Lounge Fire that destroyed the building:
“It was my band that was setting up its equipment, the night the Interlude burned down. We were going about our business, we looked up and noticed smoke, then flames..it all flared up so fast. We starting grabbing our gear and running what we could outside, after the third trip the smoke was taking on a very strong plastic type smell, so all we could do is watch the firefighters hosing it down..it was a total loss. I was amazed at how fast the fire spread in just minutes. The next day we went back and sifted through the remains, I found a mic stand of mine that I still have. I should add that the only people inside the bar beside ourselves, were a handful of staff, the bar wasn’t open for biz.
No one was hurt”
